Rubberman XL - Handlebar mount for smartphones from 6.5"
Since smartphones tend to get bigger and bigger, there was automatically a demand for a larger version of the sustainable helper called "Rubberman", which was the test winner of the mobile phone mount tests of the Süddeutsche Magazine.
In order to create the necessary space for larger smartphones and mini tablets from 6.5 inches, the center bar of the XL version of the "Rubberman" has been extended by 4 cm. This means that the friendly mount also fits smaller smartphones on handlebars with larger diameters such as road bikes and MTBs.
All products from Retube are unique. Thus, there are not only visual differences, but there are also deviations, for example, in the diameter and elasticity of the material, which is punched from old tractor inner tube. The material is basically extremely hard-wearing and stretchy. However, depending on the size of the end devices and the tube material used, the force required for clamping differs.
Where the mount on the original Rubberman is recommended for handlebars with a standard diameter of approx. 22 mm, the new XL variant is also suitable for thicker diameters such as 31.8 mm. Before using it for the first time, the mount should be stretched properly once to make it easier to clamp the device.
In addition to bicycle handlebars, the Rubberman can also be attached to all other tubular objects such as the push bar of a stroller or the shopping cart in the supermarket. So it's practical to always have an eye on the digital shopping list.
It's nice that there is now also a possibility for larger devices to use a resource-saving mount.
